Solo Date, Hobbies and My Expresso Martini

Starting 2025 I said I wanted to have a hobby and after the week I’ve had it was no better time than the weekend before valentines to pour into myself. Growing older I realized relationships can be hard whether it be platonic or romantic because as we grow our views change or boundaries change, or personalities even change and to get someone up to speed with what you need can leave you feeling like a burden and maybe even unloved.

But I’ve found when your internal love levels aren’t as high it’s easier to depend on others for that feeling so it’s really important to pour into yourself because you are the center of your love stories.

I’m always thinking about something and that’s sometimes to my detriment so I thought a hobby where I can focus on one thing would be great for me. So, building Adult Lego sets it is! This is actually one of the three hobbies I’m taking up this and I started with the 608-piece Orchid set. Kill mi dead I could do this in one sitting! Luckily, I’d have time for the next 3 days so the Saturday evening I completed bag 1/4 and the next three days I’d do the rest.

What I wanted to make sure of when I did this set was that I wasn’t just doing the set but I was intentionally spending time with myself. So, I got a Detroit Style Deep Dish Pizza from Little Ceaser's which was really nice but it salt it salt it salt ! I put on some music, started off with listening to the bogu yagga music on the new DJ Max Down rhythm to really get me in a high energy mood then eventually winded down with a RNB Mix that included my favorite song right now “Luther” by Kendrick and SZA. I made a new cocktail that I like, a Baileys Expresso Martini 🍸

Nothing too hard, 3 ingredients:

Bailey’s Strawberries and Cream Rum Cream

Coffee

Ice

I got this recipe off TikTok and I want to learn to make a traditional Expresso Martini one day but I wanted something quick and fun and girly for my Solo Date.

Put all these the ingredients in a shaker, shake duh and them pour it up pour it up

Self-love is really vital, as I said earlier you are the center and common factor of your love stories and the way you feel about yourself will lead to the boundaries you set, the way you want to be loved and showed up for and even the way you love and show up for others.

This Valentine’s Day and onwards show yourself some love, that could start by finding a hobby to delve into some solo time or even making your favorite drink or trying one of mine lol
