I took a little girl's trip to Montego Bay Jamaica to celebrate a friend's birthday, and you know brunch and a girl's trip go hand in hand. We decided on going to BoatHouse Grill and even though the menu wasn't giving brunch we were definitely not disappointed.

It was a rainy day in Montego Bay and I was worried it would spoil the festivities but to be honest it really set the ambiance. We rang the bell to take a VERY short ride on a wooden tender to head inside the rustic yet charming wooden structure. The views of the rain hitting the Caribbean Sea was breathtaking and really set the mood for an intimate celebration... too bad I was with my girls and not my man.

Man aside, the girls and I were the only ones there and were given the staff's full attention. It would've been ridiculous if we got bad service, but our host, server and the bartender were really attentive and friendly.

Almost all of us had pastas and there were happy bellies all around the table as we enjoyed the food. I got the Beef Stroganoff which was well seasoned and cooked pan seared beef tenderloin strips with mushrooms, carrots and onions on top of creamy linguine pasta. The serving size was very hearty for the price of $2467JMD.

It was my first time having an Expresso Martini and I told the bartender I was scared it would be bitter and wouldn't like it, he told me no worries he'll make it just right and that he did. It was so creamy and sweet that a fly decided to get some and drown in it when I was almost finished but the bartender was kind enough to whip me up another on the house. Now that's service! And I'm definitely adding Expresso Martinis to my drink rotation, have you every tried it or is it an old lady drink? Let me know in the comments.

I must say life is really all about perspective because it can either rain on your parade or rain at your parade and I was glad we were able to enjoy the views from the rain and really allow it to set the mood for a lovely birthday "brunch" at HouseBoat Grill. The views were immaculate, the food was exquisite and we topped it off with the yummiest, light, fluffy and creamy chocolate cake to celebrate my friend.

Love HouseBoat! Been twice and would definitely go again. My favorite thing is the tender ride, though literally a few seconds it’s so cool lol, but the food I agree is amazing and the staff A1! Great review !!
